Several years ago i began building a homemade snorkel.....well life took over and i never finished it.....instead i was left with a gaping hole in the airbox which was never an issue while i used the Pathy as a commuter car....fast forward to 2007, the Pathy is now a dedicated home improvement store hauler and off road rig. Time to finish what i started.
The real inspiration for finishing this was being extracted from a mud hole by a Jeep (Hangs head in shame) I went thorugh the mud hole the Jeep had just gone through and i notice the truck bucking and the rpms bouncing about halfway through the hole....i shut the truck off right away...water and mud halfway up the tires and coming in the doors fast....after extraction we pulled the airbox apart and everthing was full of water and mud.....luckily i shut it down before any water got into the MAF or the throttly body or worse the engine....removed the air filter, dried out the airbox with rags and avoided puddles of any kind the rest of the day
